Dan Busch Memorial Wildlife Scholarship

"The key to the future of trapping is through education."

What is the Dan Busch Memorial Wildlife Scholarship?
At the annual Wisconsin Trappers Association spring meeting the Selection Committee awards a $500 scholarship 
to a student pursuing an education in a wildlife related science. Half is paid upon proof of first semester registration and the second half upon proof of second semester registration and evidence of a 3.0 grade point average. The scholarship must be used within one year of being awarded and may be awarded regardless of other scholarships.  The application deadline is March 1st, every year.
 
Who is eligible?
To be eligible you must:
  • Intend to pursue a career in a wildlife related science such as biology, botany, natural resources, etc. and not a physical science such as chemistry or physics.
  • Maintain a 3.0 or B average at time of application.
  • Plan to attend any accredited four year college or university, a two-year campus which is part of a larger school system or an accredited technical college.
  • Maintain a minimum of 12 credits per semester
  • Be truthful, friendly and have a love for nature and a desire to learn more about our living natural resources.

What other things does the Selection Committee consider?
The Selection Committee will consider financial need, work history and extracurricular activities. Preference will also be given to applicants whose parents or guardians have been and are currently active members of the Wisconsin Trappers Association.

JACQUI KOLITZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

WISCONSIN TRAPPERS ASSOCIATION DISTRICT 7

1)      Name of scholarship: Wisconsin Trappers Assoc. District 7 Jacqui Kolitz Memorial Scholarship 

2)      Geographical Eligibility: Students that receives this scholarship must be a resident of a WTA District 7 county: 

          Waupaca, Outagamie, Waushara, Winnebago, Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du lac, Columbia, or Dodge.

 3)     Amount:  $500.00                                                                                 

4)      Month/year of graduation from high school:  Any year. 

5)      Grade point average required:  3.0 overall or B maintained at time of application

      6)      Financial need:  will be considered

    7)      Intended career and/or major:  Must be pursuing a career in a wildlife-related science,

        such as biology, botany, natural resources, etc. and not a physical

        science-like chemistry or physics. 

8)      Intended school:  Any accredited four-year college or university, or a two-year campus

          which is part of a larger school system, or accredited technical college. 

9)      Personal characteristics:  Truthful, honest, friendly, love for nature and a desire to learn more about our living natural resources. 

10)   Work history:  Will be considered 

11)   Extra-curricular activities:  Will be considered 

12)   Full or part-time student:  Minimum of 12 credits per semester 

13)   Time limit for use of money:  Must be used within one year of the annual Wisconsin Trappers Association Spring Meeting in March. 

14)   Schedule of payment:  $250 upon proof of registration first semester and $250 upon proof of registration second semester and evidence of a 3.0 grade point average. 

15)   Eligibility if other scholarships are received:  May be awarded regardless of other scholarships 

16)   Naming of alternate by Selection Committee:  If recipient decides by August 15th not to go to college, the money will be awarded to an alternate.

18)   Preference:  Preference will be given to applicants whose parents/guardians have been and are

      currently active members of the Wisconsin Trappers Association.
